Fluorescent lighting Empty Fluorescent lighting

I have made a strong connection between fluorescent lighting and red eyes. When I'm over at a friends house who uses fluorescent lighting every where, my eyes would get dry and red. When I'm at home using a normal light bulb, my eyes feel normal and don't get as red.

Too bad the US government is banning normal light bulbs soon..so buy them while they last.

I too have discovered the correlation between fluorescent lighting and my degree of redness!!! Lately I have been so down about this, that I avoid going anywhere with this type of lighting (which as you know, is everywhere!). I am so aware of lighting - I cannot even go to Target anymore! Did you have Lasik? Do you know the "cause" of your red eyes?

Hey Irella,

Yea I had lasik...but my eyes were always red and dry even before that.

I hate going to the mall because of the lightning. I even avoid going to some friends house because they use only fluorescent lights. Another thing I notice is LCD televisions, they make my eyes so dry and red when watching them!

Kami - I too had red, veiny eyes before Lasik, but my eye doctor thinks the surgery worsened my condition. Interesting about the LCD television correlation..I have not noticed that yet. Have you seen an eye doctor regarding your condition? It is nice to know someone else out there knows what I am going through (because I could swear everyone but me has bright whites!). Especially with Dr. Kim being MIA, I just do not know what to do anymore Sad((

Irella,

yea I have seen a few eye specialist here in the east coast but none have any kind of idea how to remove the red veins. The LCD TVs really give off a lot of heat and it very sharp which for some reason makes my eyes red. I never had a problem with the old bulky style TVs. Are you on facebook? Did you ever try to friend Dr. Kim?

Yes we red-eyed people know how it feels, the struggles each time we look into the mirror..
